Assignment: Describe My Bedroom (Use Imagery)

I have a white door with a silver metal handle. I have a queen sized box bed that has clothes and sheets inside and on top I have a variety of bedsheets and three pillows. To the right of my bed I have a cupboard that contain formal clothes such as party-wear and ties. Next to the cupboard there is a window with cream coloured drapes covering it. Toward the end of my window, I have a closet that contains all of my jackets and my uniform. I have another cupboard that has all of my clothes. To the left of my big bed, I have a mini square-sized cupboard that has my personal wear and many pairs of socks. On top of the cupboard I have a black lamp that shines a 100 Watt bulb. In my room, I have a connected bathroom that is white. I have a sink with a silver brass faucet. Next to it I have a white toilet. In front of it I have a shower that has warm, cold and hot water 24 h/day. Next to the shower I have a window.

Q and A of The First Section of The Book...

Q1: How is section 1 the same/different from your expectations?

A1: Section 1 is the same as I expected. I predicted that this novel will be about a couple of people who are looking for jobs during the Great Depression

Q2: What dreams and ambitions did George and Lennie have?

A2: George and Lennie wanted to own a little house and a couple of acres, a cow, some pigs, lots of rabbits and a puppy for Lennie so he can pet it harder than a mouse without breaking it.

Q3: Do you think their dreams will be fulfilled?  Why or why not?

A3: I think their dreams will not be fulfilled because since they are jobless and poor right now, there may not be a chance for them to find a job or place at where they can survive. And another factor that effects this dream is the fact that Lennie isn't that smart so that could lead to dilemmas in the future.

Q4: Personal reflection on Section 1: likes, dislikes, characters, setting, plot, dialogue, imagery

A4: I like the way these two characters talk to each other. By the way they speak, it is clear that both characters are uneducated. There are numerous examples of imagery. As the words are read, I can actually see the setting and almost here the sound that are described in the book. This use of imagery is useful because when I see it, I can entirely understand what is happening.

What I Think Of Mice And Men Will Be About...

            I think "Of Mice and Men" will be about a couple of people who are poor and they are looking for a job because of the Great Depression and the Crash. I know it will be related to the Great Depression because this story takes place in the 1930s and that is when the Great Depression took place. I think these people will either be higher class or middle class people because the Great Depression targeted people who put money into stocks. Lower class people didn't have enough money to put into stocks. I have also read two chapters of this book so I know a little bit. I know that the people who are looking for jobs are named George Milton and Lennie Small. I found the first 2 chapters very interesting. I will enjoy reading this book.
